03:27 am - Washington
Left the hotel pretty late (2pm) and started the drive towards Washington. Yuliia and I felt like a movie and tried to find a movie theater in Richmond but my searching technique failed. We kept driving and stopped in Fredericksburg, Virginia to eat. Then we finally arrived at Washington at 9pm (Washington was farther than I thought it would be). We walked for about two hours, seeing the government triangle, the big obelisk, the Capitol and the White House. Then we went to see the Jefferson Memorial, which was awesome, I loved the building, the statue and the quotes they chose to put there. It also has a wonderful setting in the city (at least the main face). The only bad thing in the Jefferson Memorial is how far the parking is and it is kind of sketchy at night. After the Jefferson Memorial, we went to see the Lincoln Memorial, which provides a wonderful view of the Obelisk and the Capitol. The sculpture is also quite cool (although it didn't surprise me in its grandeur like Jefferson's) but the quotes weren't as cool as Jefferson's, they were a good read though.
On the way out of the city, by my great luck we witnessed the cathedral, which is beautiful. While looking at the cathedral, I decided to take another look at the map to see how to get on the road to Pittsburgh, a cop came behind me and did its noise at me which startled me very much. It was quite a funny scene.

While in Washington, I tried to contact Tyler and Nathan as I knew they would be in town for the MAA-AMS Joint Meetings, but I didn't find them. I guess I'll see them at another time.

Right now, I am in Frederick, Maryland (tenth state in the trip). About 4 hours from the final driving destination (in Pennsylvania, making it eleven states). Then a flight to Boston (Massachussetts would be the thirteenth state), then the bus to Lebanon, NH. A pretty epic trip.
Life is good.
