Class this week was pretty good. It was mostly review for the midterm which occurred Thursday. I will grade the midterms tomorrow. On class on Friday I was observed by someone outside the faculty and she thought I did a good job, I was happy about it.

On Monday, Yuliia and I went to Asa's house and we help them make some dumplings (we took some guacamole and allatki with us too) and then ate together. We watched the movie The Brave One which is an entertaining action movie with Jodie Foster as a revenge filled woman. The movie was okay, not great but entertaining. I had a lot of fun talking with Asa, Alex and Yuliia after the movie.

On Tuesday, I got excited about some Olympiad style math problems and spent some time trying to solve them, I was excited when I did solve them. I also went to trivia night at Ramunto's (pizza restaurant). It was really fun. I've been attending trivia night at Dartmouth for about four weeks now and it is very frustrating because quiz bowl has such hard questions. In one hour I usually answer 0 to 2 questions. At the trivia night on Tuesday, it was much nicer because a lot of the questions were at least approachable. We were fifth out of fifteenth which was a solid performance.

On Wednesday, I crashed my car. There was a big snow and on my way to the soccer game I lost control of my car and hit the rail. Fortunately no one in the car was hurt, it seemed like the damage to the car was not big as it only impacted the front left and back left part of the car. Unfortunately I have to change the fender, head light and tail light. If I do everything to make the car pretty again, the cost would be around $3000. I will only repair the lights and pay about $600. This accident taught me that in the US insurance is extremely necessary as the price to fix car things is astronomical. Too bad I didn't have insurance (in NH it is legal to not have insurance).
Even after the accident, we still went to the soccer game, which we forfeited as the girls on our team didn't show up. We played just for fun and we won 8-2. Again both goals I received came when they had an extra player. I did some very nice saves although I did three mistakes (two I saved after and the other became a goal). It was fun.

Thursday was full of activity because of the midterm with me being at school all day. At night we skipped salsa dancing because it was snowing again and I didn't feel comfortable driving in the snowy conditions.

Today was the trip to the mechanic. I also had a meeting with my advisor where I was a bit ashamed as I didn't get almost any research done. This week I plan to be more active in this regard.

Afterwards, Yuliia and I cleaned the house because we would have guests as they would come to our house to watch:
Dollhouse The second episode was in my opinion much better than the first. An interesting way of telling the story plus being an action packed episode while the subplot deepens. I am surprised that the second episode is better than the first, mainly because usually a Joss episode is always better (in Buffy, out of my top ten episode 8 or 9 are by Joss).

It was fun having guest in my home (kind of the first time I have friends over). They left right after Dollhouse and Yuliia and I watched Battlestar Galactica which had an unusually weak episode. The episode wasn't so good but it does have a lot of interesting developments. It had an important death, it had an important decision and it had a lot of Gaius time, which finally brought back the phantom Six back in action. I enjoyed it and I am glad Yuliia likes the show too.
