I haven't been able to sleep that well, slept 4 hours yesterday and 5 hours this time. I guess I am not used to the flooding of light in my room here in Juarez.

Yesterday I went to a french exhibition of some french class. I went with Nicia since a friend of hers was involved in some of it. I had fun talking to Karina, Nicia and Karina's mother and also seeing Pepito and Victor after a long time. Pepito and Victor are the sons of a very good friend of my father (a dentist), I hadn't seen Pepito in a while and was surprised he is 17 years old. I remember when he was like 6 and our families went together to DisneyLand. Incredible how time flies.

Mary cooked chiles rellenos and lengua for me. It was such a treat, I really really love these dishes. I am so grateful for Mary, she cooked all morning to have my favorite dishes. A friend of my mother, my mother, Nicia and I enjoyed the dinner. We had a very joyful talk for hours. Josefina was telling us about the unjust laws in the pension in Mexico for teachers. The current law (under revision now) has that men can protect their wife, concubine 1, concubine 2, concubine 3 and children, yet women cannot add anyone to their pension. Besides being incredible sexist, it is even more unfair considering 80% of teachers in Mexico are female, hence women are paying for the lovers of their fellow male coworkers. Amazing. It looks like the new law will be individualistic, but the government of Chile is trying to convince Mexico to not do it, telling us they tried it recently and failed.

At night I went to Cesar's house. We watched some Colbert report trips. I suggest watching the clip where Esteban Colberto shows up to bash Bush, super funny.

After Colbert Report, Lencho showed up and the three of us saw "Fitzcaraldo". What a film!!! It was such a treat watching a movie so brilliantly made. Klaus Kinski is an amazing actor, it is hard to imagine anyone pulling off the characters he can portray. He is the german Jack Nicholson, although crazier. I won't comment more on some of the things that happen in the movie because they are spoilers, but it is amazing how this movie could have been made, Herzog is a crazy, brilliant director.

After Fitzcaraldo, we saw the documentary about making Fitzcaraldo. The movie is called Burden of Dreams, and I strongly suggest to watch it right after Fitzcaraldo. Any scene that might look fake in Fitzcaraldo is showed that it wasn't fake by the documentary. You can see the troubles of making the film, about dealing with the natives and there is an amazing scene which I won't detail here again due to spoiling the fun. Watch and enjoy. Besides you can also enjoy the marvelous Herzog voice and his insanely weird comments that seem to come out of a crazy, funny person.

This morning I watched Ghostbusters on TV. The movie is very funny and I enjoyed it a lot. It brought a lot of memories of my childhood playing with Ghostbuster toys. I had a fake ghostbuster gun and the trap. It was so fun to throw the trap and then open it up with a pedal. This sort of toys are probably good for kids because they make you imagine stuff. Well even if they aren't good for kids, they sure wre fun when I was one.

Last night after the movie, César, Alejandro and I saw many youtube videos of the Daily Show and Colbert Report. I wish to share some here.

Interview with representative from Washington D.C
This is hilarious. "You're not part of the United States, because D.C is not a state."

California's 6th District
This is where the lightsaber madness begins. I recommend watching the lightsaber battles too. Here are some links.

Stewart On Notice saga.
It starts with understanding the check in. Stewart checks in to Colbert after every Daily Show. Example. Here's the time Colbert reversed it and checked in with Stewart.
The check in that starts the on notice saga.
Apologize to Geraldo.
Jon's on Notice.

First ever Colbert Report. Here's where the definition of truthiness comes to light.

The popular Colbert loses it. One of the few times Colbert loses it and starts laughing.

Colbert dancing. Hilarious bit on Daily show about the ice-skating scandal.

My favorite Colbert on Daily Show. Jobbing of America. I dare you not to laugh when Colbert says: "for our children".

My second favorite Colbert on Daily Show. Colbert and sharks. I couldn't stop laughing. Hilarious.

The Ten Commandments interview. A representative who wants the Ten Commandments put in some government building but then fails to be able to mention more than 3 commandments.

The Bill O'Reilly saga:
Bill O'Reilly on Daily Show close to elections 2004. Bill O'Reilly doesn't look insane in the interview, he actually looks intelligent. Although, he is kind of mean when he mentions "we're both rich, we got our tax cuts, we should be happy", the response by Stewart is unforgettable "of course, believe me, I kick and piss on homeless people whenever I can".
Jon Stewart on O'Reilly Factor. The facts O'Reilly throws against Daily Show are unfundamented (what a surprise).
Bill O'Reilly more recently on Daily Show. "O'Reilly Factor for kids", I am surprised such a book exists. O'Reilly shuts up the people a couple of times. Not a very funny clip, but it's worth a watch.

There's an immense number of other clips worth watching. But it would take forever. I'll just stop with a nice threat down by Colbert.
