8th-Sep-2006 01:08 am - $1000 richer
Thank you Daunte Culpepper and Joey Porter.
The miracle on Pittsburgh.

Watching the game with the bet on the line was extremely fun. It started well with Pittsburgh scoring fast and going 14-10 to halftime. Then Miami getting to the goal line of PIT and Culpepper throwing an awful pass, but Taylor (from PIT) fails to intercept it. Then Miami scores and puts the game 17-14. I am a little disappointed, but there's a quarter and a half to go and I feel like PIT can get back and win. PIT has a drive of 85 yards and then they fumble at the goal line. This was super funny because David got up and said "Nooooo. That fumble might cost me $1000", his expression of anger at PIT makes me laugh uncontrollably (I literally was rolling on the floor laughing). We start commenting on how PIT needs a miracle to win by more than 5 points.

With 6:30 left on the clock the miracle begins. Batch connects with Miller for an 87 yard TD pass (it wasn't even a TD, but the referees made a tiny mistake, the player was tackled a yard away from the endzone). PIT is now up 21-17 with 6 minutes left. The chances of PIT winning by more than 5 are still not that high, because if Miami gets rid of some time and then PIT gets the ball back, their priority will be to lose time and not to score. Well, the best thing happens and Culpepper, oh the reliable Culpepper (reliable to screw up with interceptions) throws an interception. PIT gets the ball at the 45 yard line and they only need to advance about 20 yards to get into field goal position.
They advance 20 yards. I feel like I won the bet, but then, Mr. Reed, the crappy kicker, shanks the kick and the score is 21-17.

I feel like there's no way of winning the bet anymore. If PIT gets the ball back, they will kneel down, they won't go for a score. The only thing that can happen for me (and David) to win the bet is if there is a turnover (interception or fumble) and PIT returns it for a TD. We comment about this and the next thing that happens is: Interception returned for a TD. Unbelievable, David and I jump ecstatically all over the apartment, he ran in glee, we start laughing uncontrollably. David was online on a forum regarding the bet, and by the time he wrote a comment, 17 comments had already been written about people being super happy with the outcome.

Playing a bit with numbers, I came to the conclusion that what happened with the interception returned for the touchdown was at least 1/50 shot. It's not a miracle, but it's certainly a very unlikely event.

It feels so good.

-Edit
Funny extra bit. I had Culpepper in my fantasy team. I lost 4 points on the match because of his two interceptions, but thanks to those I got $1000, so I guess I can't complain too much.
30th-Aug-2006 01:56 pm - Want to win $500 dollars?
A casino called Mansion is having an incredible offer to attract people to bet in their casino.
The offer is as follows:
If you bet $1100 for PIT beating MIA (with the spread line), if you win, you get $1000 (besides getting your money back). If you lose the bet, you lose nothing (they return the bet).
So, if you want to guarantee winning 500 dollars, you could bet on Miami on another site, and if Miami wins, you get the $500 and $0 in mansion.com. If Pit wins, you get $1000 in mansion and -500 in the other site.
Win-win situation.

Here's what you have to do to get in the promotion:

2) Register (top right corner has a register button), be sure to put an address you can prove you own.
3) Register to Neteller, so that you can move money more easily (neteller is a bank that has more flexibility when gambling).
