I read the first two trade paperbacks of Ultimate Spider-Man. It is interesting how they made an 11-page story into 180 pages (the origin story of Spider-Man), it actually worked well. The second trade was much better in my opinion, with a very nice storyline involving Fisk, it had a very Spider-Man-ly feel to it. The voice of spider-man is well established in that arc. It convinced me to keep reading the ultimate spider-man even if it is so long.

I also saw the movie Get Smart. The movie was funny, but there was about 5 minutes where the movie went dark because of the bad movie theater, and it looked like that scene was supposed to be the funny physical comedy scene. Oh well, I enjoyed my time there.

Watched the latest Joss Whedon project Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog a 42 minute musical put on the internet. The musical is very funny, specially Captain Hammer (portrayed by Nathan Fillion). The project was meant to be something to do while the writer's strike was going on. Unfortunately yesterday was the last day it could be seen for free. Now it must be seen through iTunes.

Yesterday Yuliia and I ran into a Ukrainian girl Yuliia had met a while ago and we walked around the Dartmouth campus. I also met Irina's friend Cristian, a guy from Ecuador. It was fun to speakkin Spanish for a while, it was funny how we were speaking in Spanish while the girls were speaking in Russian. I was also very proud of myself when I understood a big portion of what Yuliia and Irina were talking about while they were speaking in Russian. Of course, it helps to be good at figuring out what they could be talking about, I guess it is like cryptography, you get some keywords and then you link them together into a plausible sentence. It was funny to see their reaction after I told them what they were talking about.
